PROBLEM WITH AUDIO/VIDEO
Sound is not being received.
(No audio is received by Sound Card when playing any type of Music CD and other games. Speaker Icon is also not available in Taskbar. )
· To see if the card is installed or not, open the settings - control panel - device manager - and get information about the sound card in the list received in it. If this information is unavailable then the sound card is not configured. The information is available but on looking at its properties, some error is being told, then its device driver has not been installed properly.
· First check the Sound Box and its Connection. If there is no Speaker Icon in Taskbar, then check it Control Panel - Multimedia show volume control on Taskbar Box, this will get Speaker Icon in Taskbar. If this box is disabled then the driver of the sound card is not installed. Install it.
· Install Sound Driver again. Still, if the sound is not received, by looking at the Control Panel Sound System properties, find out what is causing the system sound card to not work. Possible reasons for this could be the following.
· There is a conflict between IRQ and DMA, so the sound card does not work. To make it work, the help of start Help conflict troubleshooter should be taken.
To be sure whether the sound card is correct or not, check whether the system is detecting the sound card or not. When detected, a message of New Hardware found or PCI Multimedia Device found or is received.
Some sound cards are installed only in Windows9x OS, do not work in DOS or Win 3. 11.
· Some PCI sound cards mismatch with some motherboards, even if everything is correct, it does not work, test for this mismatching by putting it in another system.
Some sound is not coming. But the speaker icon is being received in the Taskbar. On playing a music file, an indication of being played is being received in the screen.
This error means that the driver of the sound card is installed correctly, the reason for not coming here can be the following
· The sound may have been muted, remove it, for this check the Speaker Icon once and get Mute Un check the box.
· 4 channel of p sound card has two op sockets made by the driver software, default mute remains by turning it on.
· The volume can be reduced at all.
· If the sound card has separate sockets for the head phone and speaker, then the speaker output cutoff is cut off as soon as the headphones are connected to it. In case of no sound, also check if the head phone is not connected anywhere.
· If the sound card is inbuilt in the motherboard, then check the cable set connected to the motherboard, it may be defective, or connected in reverse.
· Diode is used to give signal to speaker output on some sound cards, these diodes also get damaged due to which the sound signal does not reach the o/p socket and the sound is not received. In such a situation, check these diodes and replace them if they are defective.
· Many sound cards mismatch with the motherboard, due to which the distorted sound or sound is not received, but the information about its correctness is received in the properties and Speaker Icon is also available in the Taskbar.
After playing music through the sound card, sound is received for some time, after that the system is hanging and the sound starts repeating.
· Replace the sound card is defective.
· Install the correct driver software.
· The sound card is mismatching with the motherboard.
Audio received by Sound Card is very less, even after doing Full Sound, the sound is heard less.
· The amplifier circuit of the sound box may be damaged.
· There is a sound card mismatch.
· The sound box is getting less power.
Sound is not clear. There is a sound of huming, and rattle.
· The sound box is defective.
· The speakers have exploded.
· The speakers are of low wattage or of poor quality.
· Wires of speaker box are short or loose contact.
Only one of the Sound Box has sound.
· Check the sound box by putting it in another system, here also check Speaker, Circuit and Winng if single speaker works.
· Double click the speaker icon on the taskbar and set cd balance control to middle.
· Check the output socket of the sound card.
· Some Inbuilt Sound Cards are Defective, they are unable to give Stereo o/p, they get sound in the same channel.
Sound Card is not working on Mio and Line In.
· Check the mic is correct.
· Enable by checking Mic and Line Input in the properties of the sound card. for this

The sound card is a Multimedia Audio Device. Through this the sound file is played. Currently it is used in every system. Sound cards are built-in on every motherboard today. In addition, PCI sound cards are also installed separately. Earlier ISA sound cards were available which are 16 bit and their driver is very easy to install. Windows OS mostly detects and installs the ISA sound card itself.
At present sound card is used in addition to listening to music, voice chat, playing games and some software. The quality of a sound card depends not only on a good card but also on its box. At the same time, Sound Errors are not only from the card but also from its box.
